IS THE POWER ON

Today I fancied a proper coffee from the machine, so I cleaned it out, filled it with fresh water and put a couple of scoops of fresh columbian coffee into the filter and waited. Ten minutes later nothing had happened, so I checked again. A colleague came over and turned the power button on, Oops!

Then this thought passed through my mind, as christians we can seem like everything is alright in our walk with Christ, we go to church, read the bible daily, live a Godly life as much as is possible, say all the right things, Yet there is No Power! 1 Corinthians 4:20 For the Kingdom of God, is not a matter of talk but of power. So the Question to ask ourselves is, “Are we walking a life of Talk or of Power”?

Without his power then life is limited, we are just nice people displaying an ordinary God, instead of an extraordinary God who is all powerful, Loving and a Father to the people he created to exist in a intimate relationship with him. He demonstrated this through Romans 9:17 where he raised you up for this very purpose, that I might display my Power in you and that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth, because his message and preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power, in you and through you (1 Corinthians 2:4).

How do I get that power? In Luke 1:8 it says you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you. Invite the Holy Spirit, to come upon you, have access to the whole of your life, so you maybe able to do immeasurable more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work in you!

Just like the coffee machine, when the power was switched on then the aroma’s that omitted from that machine were a delight to all.

Blessings.
